The ability to communicate professionally and with empathy is a core tenet of your nursing practice and is essential in determining patient satisfaction and Trust in the care provided. Communication serves to reduce misunderstanding and the level of anxiety and tension in the nurse–patient relationship through clarification and understanding of the care being provided. Empathetic Communication, in addition to interactions concerning care, offers emotional support, which promotes the self-image of care as comprehensive and compassionate. All of these factors cumulatively lead to heightened patient trust, which correlates with compliant behavior, Satisfaction, and outcomes of care received. This article examines the relationship between Communication, empathy, Trust, and Satisfaction in the context of patient-centered nursing and its implications for practice, education, and policy.
